What Tony Hawk Pro Skater Taught Me
A couple of weeks ago I found out that one of my favorite video games is being remastered and released this fall. I am excited about it. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 is one of the games I remember playing most throughout my teens. It had a memorable soundtrack. The levels were fun and challenging throughout the game.
It also introduced me into the world of skating, which I didn't really know a whole lot about at the time. I was curious about the skaters in the game and wanted to know more about what made them great. I had friends who were also into skateboarding too.

While I was never good at skating in real life, I was a master at pulling off a combo of tricks in the game. THPS 2 is one of those games I will always remember fondly and I hope younger generations will enjoy it as much as I did when I was a teen.

Here are some of the life lessons I took away from playing video games:
- Risk taking has it's big payoffs.
- Creativity is a combination of what we know we can do and the things we have yet to try.
- Sometimes we can find good music in the most unlikely places.
- None of us start off great. We learn through experience.
- Falling down is a part of life but we usually get back up.
Is there a video game you remember fondly? If so, is there anything you took away from it?
