Cowtown and Louisiana Half

This weekend I ran the Cowtown Half marathon in Fort Worth. It was a fun experience running through some notable areas in Fort Worth including the Stock Yard District and Sun Dance Square. I appreciate the crowd support throughout the race. It added to the experience and allowed others to keep going. The weather during the race was cold but it got a bit warm once the sun came up.

After the race, I decided to explore Bishop Arts District in Dallas. I used to go to a book store/bar called Wild Detectives a few years ago when I worked on campaigns. It was fun to see the neighborhood during the day and grab a drink.

Looking back at the last two months, I would say it's been good when it comes to races. I also got to run the Louisiana Half Marathon in the middle of January. The weather was also cold, cloudy, and windy. Yet the route brought back memories of the time I lived in Baton Rouge as I would run around the campus lake often. I also got to revisit a few places before and after the race.

While I don't feel like I am close to hitting my goals for the year, I have been taking it one step at a time. I'm hoping to develop my strength training to help with running and just get stronger in general. I am also doing a How to Money challenge where I save a certain amount each week. So far it is going okay although I think by the end of the year it will definitely be a lot more challenging.
