Take a hike

This weekend I took a drive down to Louisiana to go hiking in Tunica Hills. The weather was perfect and there were no hiccups during my drive.  I spent some time listening to some country music. I saw a few waterfalls during my hike, too.

It wasn't my first time in Tunica Hills though. I remember the first time I traveled to St Francisville only to end up stopping at a prison and getting lost. Thanks Google Maps! I ended up driving around the area where it was supposed to be but could never find the exact spot where people could hike. I ended up driving off course into this hilly neighborhood, which I am kind of surprised my car didn't get stuck. I ended up going back home in disappointment. The second time, I was able to find it easily. It's a nice creek area with lots of hills and small waterfalls. It's a good way to spend a weekend if you enjoy hiking.

While I also spent time in Tunica Hills this weekend, I also travelled to Baton Rouge to grab a slice from the local pizza place and grab some coffee at Brew Ha Ha. (I definitely recommend trying the cake balls there!) Driving around I realize that not a whole lot has changed since I have been down there. What I remember most about living in Baton Rouge is making the most out of such a small city, which is probably why I consider it a second home. I learned to dance and cook down there. I fell in love with travelling to parts of Louisiana. I now have a tolerance for country music too.

Speaking of country music, I had to give a listen to some of the stuff that's out there during my drive. There's quiet a bit that's bad but I did enjoy listening to George Strait's new album. Jake Owen's new album is tolerable. I am still in love with Dierk Bentley's album from last year. Who doesn't enjoy Kacey Musgrave? I don't listen to a lot of country music but when I do, I appreciate the creativity, originality, and good storytelling in the music. I think I can say the same for any genre of music.

Anyway's what did you do this weekend? Did you celebrate Easter or any other holiday? What are some of your favorite places to go hiking if you do?
